John McPherson Pinckney (May 4, 1845 - April 24, 1905) is a U.S. Representative from Texasmarker.

Born in Grimes County, Texasmarker, near the town of Hempstead, Waller County, Pinckney attended the public schools and was privately instructed.Enlisted as a private in the Confederate States Army and served in Company D, Fourth Texas Brigade, until the close of the Civil War, attaining the rank of first lieutenant.He studied law.He was admitted to the bar in 1875 and commenced practice in Hempstead, Texasmarker.He served as district attorney for the twenty-third judicial district of Texas 1890-1900.County judge of Waller County 1900-1903.

Pinckney was elected as a Democrat to the Fifty-eighth Congress to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Thomas H. Ball.He was reelected to the Fifty-ninth Congress and served from November 17, 1903, until April 24, 1905, when he was assaulted and killed at Hempstead, Texasmarker.He was interred in the City Cemetery at Hempstead.
