Josu Urrutia TellerĂ­a (born April 14, 1968 in Bilbaomarker, Biscay) is a former Spanishmarker footballer, who played as a defensive midfielder.

Club career

A product of the Athletic de Bilbao youth academy, Lezamamarker, Urrutia appeared once for the first team during 1987-88, then amassed a further five games in the following, going on to represent the B side in both the second and third levels.

From 1990-91 onwards, he became a very important first-team member, being a valuable midfield element with tackling and stamina skills. Urrutia appeared in 30 matches during 1997-98, as the Basquemarker qualified for the UEFA Champions League, as second.

After only 19 matches combined from 2001-03 (only appearing in one Spanish Cup outing in the latter season), Urrutia retired from the game, at 35.
