Keith Lamont Davis (born December 30, 1978 in Dallasmarker, Texasmarker) is an American football safety who is currently a free agent. He was signed by the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent in 2002. He played college football at Sam Houston State.

Davis has also been a member of the Dallas Cowboys, Miami Dolphins and Oakland Raiders.

Professional career

First stint with Cowboys

Davis was signed by the Dallas Cowboys as an undrafted free agent in 2002. He was also a member of the World Bowl XII champion Berlin Thunder of NFL Europa. Davis was frequently touted by former head coach Bill Parcells and others for his excellent special teams play, having led the them twice in special teams tackles.

Miami Dolphins

On March 11, 2008, Davis signed with the Miami Dolphins, reuniting him with team vice president Bill Parcells. The Dolphins released Davis on August 27, a day before the team's final preseason game. The move was noted as strange by members of the media, as it was learned that Davis was on the team's flight manifest to New Orleansmarker and was even assigned a room number. However, Davis' agent stated it was merely a business decision.

Second stint with Cowboys

Just days after being released by the Dolphins, Davis was re-signed by the Dallas Cowboys on August 31, 2008.

Oakland Raiders

Davis was signed by the Oakland Raiders on May 21, 2009. He was released on July 13, 2009.

Personal

Shooting

On July 16, 2006, Davis was grazed by a bullet in the head and shot in the thigh in a drive-by shooting while driving, and was reported to be in stable condition. According to the Associated Press, this was the second time Davis had been shot, the first being an incident in which he had been an innocent bystander.
