The Legislative Assembly is the legislature of the Falkland Islandsmarker.

Under the new Constitution, which came into effect on January 1, 2009, it replaced the Legislative Council.

Chaired by the Speaker, it has ten members, of which eight are elected every four years and the remaining two are ex officio: the Chief Executive and the Financial Secretary. As no political parties are active on the Islands, non-partisans were elected at the most recent election (5 November 2009). The next elections are due to be held in November 2013.

The Members of the Legislative Assembly elected on 5 November 2009 are:

Dick Sawle, Gavin Short, Glen Ross, Emma Edwards and Jan Cheek (representing the Stanley constituency); and

Roger Edwards, Sharon Halford and Bill Luxton (representing the Camp constituency).

The Assembly meets in the Court & Assembly Chamber in Stanley Town Hall and has office facilities at Gilbert House, a short distance away.
