The ceremonial county of Berkshire, (which is entirely made up of unitary authorities - Bracknell Forestmarker, Readingmarker, Sloughmarker, West Berkshire, Windsor and Maidenheadmarker and Wokingham) is divided into eight Parliamentary constituencies, two Borough constituencies and six County constituencies.

Current proposals by the Boundary Commission for England would retain these8 constituencies, with changes to realign constituency boundarieswith the boundaries of current local government wards,and to reduce the electoral disparity between constituencies.These changes are expected to be implemented at the United Kingdom general election, 2009/10.
