Müritzeum is a visitors centre and a nature discovery center at lake Müritzmarker, near Müritz National Parkmarker and close to the city of Warenmarker in Mecklenburg-Vorpommernmarker in Germanymarker. From the building, drawn by Swedishmarker architect Gert Wingårdh, visitors can view the fishes in the lake and also learn more about the wildlife in the national park. Müritzeum opened for the public in August 2007. The largest German freshwater aquarium for local fish species is shown in the MUERITZEUM. The MUERITZEUM has a modern and interactive exhibition about the largest German lake (Mueritz) and the Müritz National Park.

The architect explains the building: "Two cones, slightly shifted in plan, shape the building. The circular form opens up, by sharp cuts, with the entrance cutting as the most prominent...The floating character of the building corresponds to the setting on the lake." ( See homepage of Wingårdhs)
