M-11 is a state highway in
the U.S. state of Michigan in the
Rapids metropolitan area.
M-11 includes portions of
the former route of US 16
The western terminus is at exit 24 of I-96
, one mile (1.6 km) east of Marne
. In Ottawa County, the road is called Ironwood Drive. beginning at
County border, the street is called Remembrance Road (in
honor of those who died in battle).
From its western
terminus, the road angles southeast-northwest for about a mile and
a half. It then turns onto Wilson Ave to run north-south.
intersects with M-45/Lake
Michigan Drive in Walker's Standale
South of Lake Michigan Drive, the route
continues on Wilson Ave. until it crosses the Grand River
Past I-196, the route curves to run east-west and becomes 28th
Street. Wilson continues as a local road and 28th
Street is the route through Grandville and Wyoming.
intersects with US 131 and continues
Rapids and Kentwood to its eastern terminus as exit 44 of
originally ran along Lake Michigan in the 1920's, and then became US 31 in 1926. Streets are still
designated as Old M-11 in places such as Chikaming
Township and Honor
later designated on Austin Road from Saline to Napoleon until 1954.
