The Madison Avenue Bridge crosses the Harlem Rivermarker connecting Madison Avenue in Manhattanmarker with East 138th Street in the Bronxmarker in New York Citymarker. The bridge is operated and maintained by the New York City Department of Transportation. It was designed by Alfred P. Boller and built in 1910 to replace and double the capacity of another earlier swing bridge dating from 1884.

For 2005, the NYCDOT reported annual average daily traffic volume in both directions of 48,397; having reached a peak AADT of 49,487 in 2002.
