The Marble Hill Metro-North Railroad station serves the residents of the Marble Hillmarker neighborhood of Manhattan, New Yorkmarker via the Hudson Line and is one of four express stations on that line south of Croton-Harmonmarker seeing most trains minus peak hour trains to/from Poughkeepsiemarker. Trains leave for New York Citymarker every 25 to 35 minutes on weekdays. It is 9.8 miles (15.8 km) from Grand Central Terminalmarker and travel time to Grand Central is approximately 21 minutes.

The station is located at the foot of the Broadway Bridgemarker on the northern side of the Harlem Ship Canalmarker in the Marble Hillmarker neighborhood. Also at this spot is the Marble Hill–225th Streetmarker station on the IRT Broadway–Seventh Avenue Line ( ) of the New York City Subway.

Despite its northern location, this station is frequently used by commuters going into and out of Manhattanmarker, especially those whose destinations are on the West Side (including Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center and Columbia University). With the easy subway transfer, many commuters choose to save money in exchange for a slightly longer commute, thus avoiding the expensive surcharge for taking Metro-North directly into Grand Central Terminalmarker or Harlem-125th Streetmarker. For example, an intermediate ticket from Tarrytownmarker to Marble Hill is currently $3.75, as opposed to a $10.25 peak ticket ($7.50 off-peak) into Grand Central.

Platform and track configuration

This station has one high-level island platform serving northbound and southbound trains and accessible by enclosed stairway from West 225th Street. The platform is four cars long. When trains stop at this station, only four cars can receive and discharge passengers.

The platform is adjacent to Tracks 1 and 2. Track 4, to the outside and not adjacent to the platform, is used only by express trains.
