has a large community of bankers and traders. A special variety of
red cotton cloth, known as
kharua, is manufactured
and exported to parts of India.
Mauranipur was
known as
Madhupuri in ancient time by its
rulers.There are many ancient ponds for water and community
grounds. People of mauranipur are progressive,people from three
religions
Hindu,
Muslim
and
Jain happily live here with a great sense
of communal harmony. Every year in the month of September after
Krishna Janmastami there is a famous fair in Mauranipur known as
Mela JAL VIHAR. In this time all the Gods and Godesses from their
temples are carried out on special VIMAN to river Sukhnai for Jal
Vihar. This is the only time in a year Gods and Godesses come our
of their temples and all the devotees can welcome them at their
door with Pooja and gifts. There is a Dam (SAPRAR DAM) at about
3kms from Mauranipur at sukhnai river which looks beautiful
specially in rainy season, it also has a pwd rest house. There is
also L.I.C. branch office.

connected with world famous tourist place KHAJURAHO.The most
popular vehicle for transportation is Bus. It is 65 Km from Jhansi
on the way to Khajuraho and Mahoba.
