Lamarck Square, Moneghetti; this
central square has a small public garden, and also contains
Moneghetti Post Office and Moneghetti Police Station; the parish
church (Sacred Heart) is 50 yards from the square.
Moneghetti is an area
('modern quartier') of the principality
of Monaco
, and an
administrative Ward in the traditional quartier of La Condamine
.
Location
Moneghetti lies on the north central border of the country.
It runs
directly into the neighbouring French town of Beausoleil
, as well as another Monaco quarter, Fontvieille
.
Features
The
quartier is noted for its steep inclines, since it is situated in
an area where the Alps drop directly down to
the Mediterranean
.
Its parish church is the church of the Sacred Heart, and it also
contains the headquarters of the Scout and Guide Association of
Monaco (
Association des
Guides et Scouts de Monaco).
