National Party ( ) is a
Baloch political party active in the
south-western province of Balochistan
, Pakistan
. It
was created in October 2003 when the non-tribal, essentially
middle-class group
Balochistan National
Democratic Party (BNDP) led by
Mir Hasil Khan Bizenjo and
Sardar Sanaullah Zehri merged with the main
faction of
Balochistan
National Movement (BNM) led by
Dr. Abdul Hayee Baloch. As a result,
Abdul Hayee Baloch became the party chairman and
Mir Hasil Khan Bizenjo, the secretary
general of the new party.
The party boycotted the
2008 general elections in
protest of
military operation
conducted by the federal government in the province. However,
Sanaullah Zehri and his followers decided to contest elections
forming a faction called NP Parliamentarians. As a result, National
Party won one provincial assembly seat with Sanuallah Zehri winning
PB-33 Khuzdar-I.
