Admission in 2009

On a combined radio/television show called Hockey Central at Noon, which is simulcast by The FAN 590 radio station and CTV Sportsnet Ontario, around 1:00 p.m. ET on October 9, 2009, Kypreos, who is co-host of the show, admitted biting the hand of an opponent in an American Hockey League game in 1988. Kypreos stated that biting occurs at professional hockey games "two to three times a year" when the bitee is trying to gouge the biter's eye out with a finger. Kypreos also stated that he doesn't think he ever bit another hockey opponent but was himself bitten "a few times" while eye-gouging during a fight.
