No Man's Land, Illinois was an unincorporated area on the shore of Lake Michiganmarker, bordering the Chicagomarker suburbs of Evanstonmarker, Wilmettemarker, and Kenilworthmarker. In 1942, after decades of disputed ownership and legal wrangling, it was officially incorporated into the city of Wilmette.

Actor Charlton Heston was born in No Man's Land, though his birthplace is usually given as Evanston (despite the fact that the birthplace now lies within the city limits of Wilmette).

Robert Shea has written a book on the dispute and history of "No Man's Land" titled, From No Man's Land to Plaza del Lago (ISBN 978-0913765081).
