The Norwegian continental shelf is the continental shelf over which Norwaymarker exercises sovereign rights as defined by the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea. Its major parts are the shelves of the North Seamarker, Norwegian Seamarker and Barents Seamarker, with the border line in the latter case under the negotiations between Norway and Russiamarker. It is rich in petroleum and gas and it is the base of the so-called "petroleum economy" of Norway.

The area of the shelf is four times the area of Norway mainland and constitutes about one-third of the Europe continental shelf.
