Orville Robinson (October 28, 1801 Richfieldmarker, Otsego County, New Yorkmarker - December 1, 1882 Oswegomarker, Oswego County, New Yorkmarker) was an American lawyer and politician who served as United States Representative from New Yorkmarker.

Life

He studied law, was admitted to the bar in 1827, and commenced practice in Mexico, New York.He was Justice of the Peace of Mexico, NY, in 1828, Town Clerk in 1829, and surrogate of Oswego County from 1830 to 1838.

He was as member from Oswego County of the New York State Assembly in 1834, 1836, 1837 and 1856, and served as Speaker in the latter year.

He was District Attorney of Oswego County from 1841 to 1843, and a supervisor of Mexico, NY in 1843.

Robinson was elected as a Democrat to the Twenty-eighth Congress, and served from March 4, 1843 to March 3, 1845.

He moved to Oswego, New Yorkmarker, in 1847, and was Recorder of Oswego in 1853. He served as Collector of Customs for the District of Oswego from 1858 to 1860.

He was buried at the Riverside Cemetery.
