Confluence of the Ourthe Occidentale (Western Ourthe) and the Ourthe Orientale (Eastern Ourthe)
The Ourthe is a 165 km long river in the Ardennesmarker in Walloniamarker (Belgiummarker). It is a right tributary to the river Meusemarker. The Ourthe is formed at the confluence of the Ourthe Occidentale (Western Ourthe) and the Ourthe Orientale (Eastern Ourthe), west of Houffalizemarker.

The source of the Ourthe Occidentale is near Libramont-Chevignymarker, in the Belgian province Luxembourgmarker. The source of the Ourthe Orientale is near Gouvymarker, also in the Belgian province Luxembourg, close to the border with Luxembourgmarker.

After the confluence of the two Ourthes, the Ourthe flows roughly in north-west direction. It flows into the river Meuse in the city Liègemarker. The most important tributaries of the river Ourthe are the Amblèvemarker and the Vesdremarker. Towns along the Ourthe are Houffalize (Ourthe Orientale), La Roche-en-Ardennemarker, Hottonmarker, Durbuymarker, Hamoirmarker and Esneuxmarker.
