The Out of Control Tour is Girls Aloud's fourth arena-based concert tour and their fifth tour overall. The tour started on 24 April 2009 in Manchestermarker's MEN Arenamarker, with the final show on 6 June 2009 in Newcastlemarker's Metro Radio Arenamarker. Thirty-two dates were announced for the arena tour.

History

Girls Aloud announced their plans to tour in support of Out of Control in mid-November 2008. Initially, just ten tour dates in bigger arenas across the United Kingdom and Ireland were announced, with tickets going on sale on 14 November. Nadine Coyle said, "We can't wait to get back out on the road to see our fans. We'll play the music that we love from the past albums. And it'll be great doing the new songs in those arenas, too." The girl group began rehearsals "straight after Christmas." Emma Deigman has been confirmed as the supporting act during the tour.

Due to arenas selling out, Girls Aloud had to add a number of live shows to the tour. Cheryl Cole's hometown of Newcastlemarker sold particularly well, with the girl group scheduled to play a record-breaking four nights. Girls Aloud are also scheduled to play three dates in Belfastmarker, Birminghammarker, Glasgowmarker, Liverpoolmarker, and four dates in London and Manchester. The group are performing three nights in O2 Arenamarker and two at Wembley Arenamarker.

In addition to their own dates, Girls Aloud have been confirmed as the support act for Coldplay's Viva la Vida Tour at Wembley Stadiummarker on 18 September 2009.

According to The Sun on 17 April 2009, the group have included "Biology", "Love Machine", "Call the Shots", "The Promise", "The Loving Kind", "Fix Me Up" and a cover of Britney Spears' "Womanizer" in the show's setlist. The show opens with "The Promise" and also closes with a reprise of the same song. The same article revealed that "...at one point in the show they will fly from the main stage to a specially constructed smaller stage in the middle of the arena to perform two songs." They will also be using a pole-dancing routine when performing "Fix Me Up".
