The Kievmarker Palace of Sports ( ) is situated in the center of Kievmarker, Ukrainemarker on the right bank of the Dnieper river.

It was built in 1960 under the leadership of Mykhailo Hrechyna and Aleksei Zavarov as a major indoor sports arena. It was also a venue for large concerts with bands such as Deep Purple, A-Ha, Jamiroquai, Moby, Muse, Placebo, The Rasmus and singers such as Christina Aguilera, Anastacia and Lenny Kravitz. The venue also hosts major exhibitions and trade fairs. In 2005 it hosted the Eurovision Song Contest, which required the facilities to be brought up to the standard required by the European Broadcasting Unionmarker.



  • Capacity: 6,000 people for both the Eurovision Song Contest semi-final and final in 2005. Additionally 2,000 press delegates were catered for.
