Pat Forde is a senior sports columnist for ESPN.com who specializes in the coverage of horse racing and college sports, mainly NCAA Division I Football and Men's Basketball.

Besides his columns on ESPN's front page, Forde also writes a weekly "Forde Yard Dash" during the NCAA football regular season, featuring 40 mentions of college football from the previous week, as well as a weekly "Dashette", a female model or celebrity that has a name ending with a vowel. During the NCAA basketball regular season this column turns into "Forde Minutes" following the same premise as the Dash.

Forde's writing for ESPN is sometimes perceived as controversial, particularly in the strong value judgments he casts on individuals and athletic programs. In a December 2007 column following the hiring of Bobby Petrino as the head football coach at the University of Arkansas, Forde called Petrino a "disingenuous drifter" and warned Razorback fans that any good will Petrino showed toward them would only be "the latest pack of lies in a career full of them."

Before he went to ESPN, Forde was a sportswriter at the The Courier-Journal in Louisville, KYmarker.

He is a 1987 graduate of the University of Missourimarker.
