Derek Paul Dickenson (born December 4, 1949 in North Shieldsmarker, Tyne and Wear) is a retired hammer thrower from Englandmarker, who represented the United Kingdommarker at two consecutive Summer Olympics, starting in 1976 (Montrealmarker). His best Olympic result was finishing in 14th place at the 1976 Summer Olympics, throwing 68.52 metres. He has worked as a sports commentator, mainly on athletics, for the BBC since 1987.
