Paul Winter Consort is an Americanmarker musical group led by the soprano saxophonist Paul Winter. Founded in 1967, the group mixes elements of classical music, jazz, and world musics, as well as the sounds of animals and nature. Current members also include cellist Eugene Friesen, pianist Paul Sullivan, percussionists Jamey Haddad, Satoshi Takeishi and Cafe daSilva, vocalist Theresa Thomason, and bassist Eliot Wadopian. Former members include woodwind player Paul McCandless, cellists David Darling and Richard Bock, percussionist Guilherme Franco and guitarists Ralph Towner and Jim Scott, bassist Glen Moore and sitarist Collin Walcott. Former Consort members McCandless, Towner, Moore, and Walcott left to form Oregon.

The Consort recorded an album on location in the Grand Canyonmarker and gives annual winter and summer solstice concerts at the Cathedral of Saint John the Divinemarker in New York Citymarker. The Annual Winter Solstice Celebration dates from 1980 and has been broadcast since 1988 on National Public Radio.
