Overlooking Pefkos


Pefkos or Pefki, Greek: Πεύκος (Πεύκοι), is a well known beach resort located on eastern coast of Rhodesmarker, just a few kilometers south of Lindosmarker, from the capital city Rhodesmarker. The island of Rhodesmarker is the largest of the Dodecanese islands, on the eastern Aegean Sea, just a few miles from the coast of the Asia Minormarker. Pefkos was once known as a fisherman's pamphlet located along the coastal road that connects the villages of Lindosmarker and Lardos. Visiting Pefkos by day will leave one with the impression of a quite and relaxed holiday resort, however when the lights come on the resort is bustling with warm friendly activity.

The main Pefkos beach is a nice, pure sand beach with many water sports and other activities. It is a Blue Flag status awarded beach for 2008. The beach is busy with tourists during the day with several restaurants, cafes and bars on the waterfront. Pedalos, speed-boats and jet-skis are also available to rent on the beach.

Pefkos until recently under developed, is swiftly evolving in an important tourist resort, mostly offering self catering holiday accommodation (villas and apartments) while its commercial center has any type amenity and a large range of restaurants, tavernas and bars. It also The resort is set against a hill which is surrounded by Pine Trees (which is where the town gets its name). It is largely visited by Scandinavians, British, Germans, Polish and Austrians.
