Pelhřimov ( ; ) is a town in the Vysočina Regionmarker of the Czech Republicmarker. It has around 16,500 inhabitants. There is Museum of Records and Curiosities. In the middle of the town there is an ancient square with a lot of old, mostly Renaissance or Baroque buildings. The centre is partly surrounded by curtain wall. The entrance is composed of two Gothic gate towers. Other remarkable sights are represented by Zámek pánů z Říčan - a small castle, Šrejnarovský dům - Pelhřimov district museum, Baroque theatre building and St. Bartholomeus Church with a view tower. The town is often nicknamed "The Gate to The Czech - Moravian Highland".
