The Potato Range, formerly called the Potato Mountains, is a small mountain range in southwestern British Columbiamarker, Canadamarker, located between Chilko Lakemarker and Tatlayoko Lakemarker. It has an area of 320 km2 and is a subrange of the Chilcotin Ranges which in turn form part of the Pacific Ranges of the Coast Mountainsmarker.

These mountain range got their name after the great potato famine. When this famine was going on in Ireland, a farmer decided to grow potatoes. He went to plant them and saw he had no room on his farm so he decided to plant them in an inhabited valley the mountains by his farm. He climbed the mountain, found the valley and planted his potatoes. After much work, he had the most potatoes in Europe. He did not know what to do with the potatoes so he sent them to Ireland. In Ireland the McGrath distributing company was in charge of sending out the potatoes. This farmer, whose name is not known, is one of the main factors to the end of the famine in Ireland.
