Raymond Forni (20 May 1941 – 5 January 2008) was a French Socialistmarker politician.


Son of an Italian immigrant, Raymond Forni was born in Belfortmarker, in 1941. His father died when he had 11. At 17, he had to stop studiing, and started working as an unskilled worker, in Peugeot factories. Finally, he was gratuated at 21 and started a law studies, in Strasbourgmarker. He became lawyer at 27 year old.

His political career grown from 1971, when he became municipal council, to this election as deputy of Territoire de Belfortmarker département until 2002, he was chairman of the National Assembly from 2000 to 2002. He was chairman of Franche-Comtémarker regional council since 2004.

He died in Paris on 5 January 2008 from leukaemia. He is survived by a wife and sons.
