Rose McIver (born October
10, 1988) is an actress from New Zealand
. Her first film appearance was in
The
Piano. She has appeared in the
Disney Channel movie
Johnny Kapahala:
Back on Board as well as such television shows as
Xena,
Hercules,
Maddigan's Quest,
Rude Awakenings, and
Legend of the Seeker.
Biography
Personal Life
Rose McIver was born October 10, 1988. Her father is a photographer
and her mother is an artist. She has one brother,
Paul McIver, who is an actor and musician. In
addition to acting, she also practices ballet and jazz.
Rose
attended Avondale College
and was a prefect in her
final year; she graduated in 2006.
Currently,
Rose attends the University of Auckland
, and majors in Psychology and
Linguistics.
Career
Not long after the age of two, McIver began appearing in
commercials; by the age of five, she received a role in the 1993
film
The Piano. McIver has mostly worked for New Zealand
television, from soap operas to dramas like
Rude
Awakenings. She also starred in the television series
Maddigan's Quest and television movies such as
Murder
in Greenwich and
Hercules.
Her big screen debut will be in
Peter
Jackson's film adaptation of
The Lovely Bones, which
is scheduled for release on December 11, 2009.
In 2010, the feature film
Predicament, based on the novel
by
Ronald Hugh Morrieson will
be released in New Zealand and Australia.
Filming took place in
July and August in the towns of Hawera
and Eltham
.
She is currently playing Summer Landsdown in the kid's television
series
Power Rangers: RPM.
