The Rose Rotana (also known as Rose Tower) is a 72-storey hotel located on Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubaimarker, United Arab Emiratesmarker. It is the world's tallest building used exclusively as a hotel. Originally, the tower was to be high, but further design modification reduced it to . Construction began in 2004, and was completed in 2007. On 24 October 2006, the building reached its full height with the addition of the spire. The hotel surpassed both the nearby Burj Al Arabmarker, and the incomplete Ryugyong Hotelmarker in Pyongyangmarker, North Koreamarker. Although the building and its inner furnishings have been completed, the hotel is not open to public bookings yet, and is expected to be open in December 2009. The hotel has two restaurants.
