The Sandusky River is a tributary to Lake Eriemarker in north-central Ohiomarker in the United Statesmarker. It is about 150 mi (241 km) long, and flows into Lake Eriemarker at Sandusky Baymarker.


The Sandusky River begins at the spring-fed Walton Lake, west of Ontariomarker in western Richland Countymarker, and initially flows westwardly through the towns of Crestlinemarker and Bucyrusmarker in Crawford Countymarker. In Wyandot Countymarker the river turns northward for the remainder of its course, flowing through Senecamarker and Sanduskymarker Counties and passing the towns of Upper Sanduskymarker, Tiffinmarker and Fremontmarker before entering Sandusky Baymarker.

In 1970, the river's course between Upper Sandusky and Fremont was designated a State Scenic River by the government of Ohio.

Little Sandusky River

The Little Sandusky River is a minor tributary of the Sandusky. It flows northward from northern Marion Countymarker and joins the Sandusky in southern Wyandot County.
