Sarah Elizabeth Barrable-Tishauer (born July 6,
1988) is a Canadian
actress who is most known
for her role as
Liberty Van Zandt
on the television series
Degrassi: The Next
Generation.
Biography
Early life
Barrable-Tishauer was born in Toronto
, Ontario
, Canada
, to a Black
mother and Jewish father. Barrable-Tishauer has had
theatrical acting career going
back to the early 2000s, when she was cast to play a major
character in the Toronto version of
The Lion King.
Career
An experienced dancer,
pianist, and trombone
player, Barrable-Tishauer received the opportunity, in 2002, to act
alongside
Gregory Hines, herself a
very experienced
film actress and
tap dancer, in the 2002 made-for-
television film "The Red Sneakers". This was her
first major experience as a television actress.
Soon after, she was cast as
Liberty
Van Zandt on the hit Canadian television series
Degrassi: The Next
Generation. Being at "Degrassi" gave Barrable-Tishauer
much fame, as the program was popular among Canadian
teenagers since 1989, and, when Barrable-Tishauer
joined, was enjoying one of its most popular eras.
Barrable-Tishauer is presently enrolled at Concordia University in
Montréal, majoring in Journalism.
In 2009, after eight seasons on
DTNG, her
character Liberty, was written off. Barrable-Tishauer continues her
studies at Concordia University in Montréal.
