Sean M. Whalen (born May 19,
1964) is an American actor.
Sean was born in Washington D.C.
The youngest of four, he was raised in
Silver
Spring
/Olney,
Maryland
and
graduated from Sherwood
High School. He moved west and graduated from UCLA
four years
later. Like most actors, he worked as a waiter while
studying and performing at the famed Groundling Theater. His break
came doing commercials and his first film,
The People Under the
Stairs (1991). Sean works steadily in film, television, and on
stage. He also earns money as a television and film writer. He's
married and has two daughters.
He has appeared in many films including:
Whalen may be best known, however, for the very first
Got Milk? commercial, in which he tries in vain
(after taking a rather large bite of a peanut butter sandwich) to
answer a radio host's question about the famous
Burr–Hamilton duel.
In addition to this,
Whalen also starred in a DiGiorno pizza
commercial, in which he and a friend enjoy a Chicago-style pizza in
Tucson,
Arizona
, as well as the short-lived 2001 television
program, Special Unit 2 as
Sean Radmon.
Lately he has appeared as crazy people in a series of popular
television shows such as
The Suite Life of Zack and
Cody as a radio station host,
Hannah Montana as a worker at a Make A
Moose store in a Moose Costume, on
Scrubs as an X-ray technician and
also appeared in
The Last Day of Summer. He was also a
guest star on Wizards of Waverly Place as a ghost named Mantooth
from the Ghost World in the episode called Halloween.
Whalen also plays Neil, one of the plane crash survivors, on
Lost. His first appearance
came during one of the
Lost:
Missing Pieces mobisodes entitled "The Adventures of
Hurley and Frogurt" in which Neil (a frozen yogurt salesman
nicknamed "Frogurt") reveals to
Hurley
that he is also interested in Libby. Neil reprised his role as
"Frogurt" in the first two episodes of season five.
