Serbian PrvaLiga or
Prva Liga Srbija ( ) is the name for the second
tier in Serbia's football league.
The league is
operated by the Football
Association of Serbia
. 18 teams are set to compete in this
league for the 2009-10 season.
It is often refered to as Prva Liga Telekom Srbija
( ) , named after the main sponsor of the league, Telekom Srbija
The league was formed to replace the old second division for the
new state union of Serbia and
, where Montenegro have their own Prva Liga
both serve as second
level. But after Montenegrin
independence referendum, 2006
the Serbian First League became
the only group of second level.
