 is a town located in Itoshima District, Fukuokamarker, Japanmarker.


As of 2003, the town has an estimated population of 17,565 and a density of 322.06 persons per km². The total area is 54.54 km².

A planned merger of municipalities will be implemented on January 1, 2010; the City of Maebarumarker and the towns of Nijōmarker and Shima will merge into the new City of Itoshima. Itoshima District will cease to exist.
