Sidney Tracy Holmes (August 14, 1815 - January 16, 1890) was a U.S. Representative from New Yorkmarker.

Born in Schaghticoke, New Yorkmarker, Holmes moved with his parents to Morrisville, New Yorkmarker, in 1819.He attended the public schools and was graduated from Morrisville (New York) Academy.He taught school.He was engaged in civil engineering on the Chenango and Black River Canals for five years.He studied law.He was admitted to the bar in 1841 and commenced practice in Morrisville, New Yorkmarker.Loan commissioner for Madison County 1848-1851.He served as judge and surrogate for Madison County 1851-1864.

Holmes was elected as a Republican to the Thirty-ninth Congress (March 4, 1865-March 3, 1867).He was not a candidate for renomination in 1866.He resumed the practice of law in Morrisville, New Yorkmarker, for a short time, and in Utica, New Yorkmarker, until 1872, when he moved to Bay City, Michiganmarker, continuing the practice of law.He died in Bay City, Michiganmarker, January 16, 1890.He was interred in Cedar Street Cemetery, Morrisville, New Yorkmarker.
