The Simi Valley is an anticlinal valley in Southern California in the United States. It is an enclosed or hidden valley surrounded by mountains and hills. It is connected to the San Fernando Valleymarker to the east by the Santa Susana Passmarker, and via the narrows of the Arroyo Simi to Moorparkmarker and Ventura, Californiamarker. The relatively flat bottom of the valley contains soils formed from shales, sandstones and conglomerates eroded from the northern hills of the Santa Susana Mountains, that separate the Simi Valley from the Santa Clara River Valley to the north. The Simi Hillsmarker lie along the south side of the Simi Valley.
