The women's skeleton event at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouvermarker, Canadamarker will take place at the Whistler Sliding Centremarker on 18-19 February. Switzerlandmarker's Maya Pedersen-Bieri is the defending Olympic champion. Gibson retired after the 2006 Olympics. The defending world champion is Germanymarker's Marion Trott. The test event held at the venue was also won by Trott. The last World Cup event prior to the 2010 Games will take place in Iglsmarker, Austriamarker (southeast of Innsbruckmarker) on 22-24 January 2010.

Records

While the IOCmarker does not consider skeleton times eligible for Olympic records, the FIBT does maintain records for both the start and a complete run at each track it competes.

These records were set during the test event for the 2010 Games on 5 February 2009.

Results

The first two runs will take place on 18 February at 16:00 PST and 17:00 PST. On 19 February, the final two runs will take place at 15:45 PST and 16:45 PST.
