. The population was 140 at the 2000 census.
St.
Donatus is known for its status as a Luxembourger
village, with historic architecture and views along
U.S. Highway 52.
It is the home of a historic
Catholic church
, which is dedicated to Saint Donatus of
Muenstereifel, the town's namesake. It was formerly
named
Tetes de Morts, which is the name of a creek
that flows through the village.

Demographics

census of 2000, there were 140
people, 53 households, and 41 families residing in the city. The
population density was 383.6
people per square mile (150.2/km²). There were 53 housing units at
an average density of 145.2/sq mi (56.8/km²). The racial
makeup of the city was 100.00%

There were 53 households out of which 30.2% had children under the
age of 18 living with them, 69.8% were
married
couples living together, 7.5% had a female householder with no
husband present, and 20.8% were non-families. 18.9% of all
households were made up of individuals and 7.5% had someone living
alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size
was 2.64 and the average family size was 3.05.
In the city the population was spread out with 22.9% under the age
of 18, 10.0% from 18 to 24, 27.9% from 25 to 44, 17.1% from 45 to
64, and 22.1% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was
39 years. For every 100 females there were 109.0 males. For every
100 females age 18 and over, there were 111.8 males.
