Stephen Alexander Bowen (born March 28, 1984 in ) is an American football defensive end for the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League. He was signed by the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent in 2006. He played college football at Hofstra.

Early years

Bowen was a graduate of Half Hollow Hills High School West in Dix Hillsmarker in 2002. He played pee wee football for several years as a part of the North Babylon Bulldogs. His father was also a coach on several of his teams at North Babylon.

Personal

Bowen married his college sweetheart, Tiffany, in March 2008.

Dallas Cowboys

Bowen went undrafted in the 2006 NFL Draft, but caught the eye of then-Dallas Cowboys head coach Bill Parcells, who promptly signed him. He recorded his first sack in 2006, in the final game of the season, sacking Jon Kitna. He was re-signed by the team as an exclusive-rights free agent in January 31, 2008.

A restricted free agent in the 2009 offseason, Bowen signed a one-year, $1.545 million contract with the Cowboys on April 6.
