Steven Lo Kit-Sing ( , born June 8, 1959) is a Hong Kongmarker and Macanese businessman active in the entertainment world.

Born in Hong Kong, Steven Lo had his upbringing and education in Macau. After graduation from high school, he worked in the banking industry and then started up an European cars dealership business. He returned to Hong Kong in the 1990s and was involved in a variety of investments primarily in the film industry but also including real estate and financial projects.

At the end of the 1990s, Lo started the entertainment company BMA Entertainment Holdings Limited, which is involved in a variety of entertainment businesses which included records, movie production and artist management. BMA has since expanded into an entertainment investment company, known as BMA Investment.

Steven Lo is active in the Hong Kong football scene, as the chairman of the Football Management Committee of South China Athletic Associationmarker, he has overseen the winning of the Domestic Treble in the 2006–07 playing season. The team has gone from strength to strength, while the team has had continued success on the domestic front, winning three consecutive league titles in the process, it has also had success in international club competitions and has reached the semi-finals of the 2009/2010 AFC Cup.

Early life and career

Steven Lo was born into the Vitasoy International Holdings Limited family and is the nephew of Lo Hoi-Muk, founder of the Cafe de Coral Group. Born in Hong Kong, Lo's family relocated to Macau when his father was appointed to manage Vitasoy's business in Macau. Lo was brought up and educated in Macau. He attended the secondary school Yuet Wah College.

During adolescence, Lo has shown keen interest in football and music. When he was in form two in the secondary school, he organised a concert for the then up and coming star Sam Hui, and formed the fans club in Macau. He eventually went on to organising other concerts in Macau for acts such as The Wynners, Louie Castro and Rowena Cortes.

After graduation, he began his career in the banking industry. He consequently established a car dealership, and was also involved in real estate businesses. At the dawn of the 1990s, Lo began investing in the Hong Kong film industry, setting up a film distribution company 永高院線. With the golden era of the Hong Kong film industry coming to an end in mid 1990s, the distribution company liquidated.

Steven Lo established BMA Entertainment Holdings Ltd in 1998. Its businesses included records, movie production and artist management.

Under the leadership of Lo, BMA's businesses has broadened into investments in property development, finance services, large-scale performance, sports entertainment, books publication, marketing, promotion and public relations in Hong Kong and Macau.

BMA Entertainment

BMA Entertainment, is involved in diversified entertainment categories such as album and artist management, motion pictures production, publishing, events and concert organisation. Its most notable artists include Niki Chow, Jade Kwan and Soler.

BMA Sports

In 2008, BMA Sports was established to deal with football players' businesses. All South China AAmarker and TSW Pegasus players are under management of the company.

Under Steven Lo's second tenure as chairman, South China heavily strengthened their squad and coaching staff after the close escape from relegation from the First Division League in 2005/2006 season. As a result, South China successfully regained the First Division League title in the 2006/2007 season, and also winning the Hong Kong FA Cup and the Hong Kong Senior Shield, achieving the famous domestic treble.

The team has gone from strength to strength, while the team has had continued success on the domestic front, winning three consecutive league titles in the process, it has also had success in other international club competitions. The team has reached the semi-finals of the 2009/2010 AFC Cup. South China's success has seen the team climb in world club rankings to their new high of 145th, even surpassing other Mainland Chinese clubs which are widely considered to be of a better standard than clubs in Hong Kong. In recent years the South China has taken part in several pre-season exhibition matches with European clubs, with the most notable being a 2:0 win against the English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur in 2009.

Much of the recent success has been attributed to Steven Lo, with his shrewd business sense he has rebuilt the team as a brand, and has played a major role in reigniting interest in the Hong Kong Football League and the club itself, as evident from the continued popular following of South China's web log hosted by the website Yahoo. South China has reinvented their image and have partnered with several organisations and brands. In 2007, South China has enter into a partnership with Hong Kong Red Cross. The partnership is a pioneer between a sports association and a humanitarian organisation in Hong Kong, and South China is the first football team to ever bear the Red Cross emblem on the official kit. The appointment of the fashion brand Giorgio Armani as the official tailor, has allowed South China to join some of the world's elite, with the brand being associated with Chelsea Football Club and the English national team. In celebration of the 100th Anniversary of the establishment of South China Football Team, world renowned designer Philippe Starck produced a special edition of the "Peninsula Chair", with the faces of the team and the chairman printed on. In 2009, South China has announced its partnership with English Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur as a bid to continuing improvements on the technical side of football, and as South China seek to venture internationally.

Personal life

Steven Lo married author Canny Leung on 13 February 2002 in Las Vegasmarker, they have a daughter. The pair met while working together on the film Bakery Amour in 2000.
