Stradishall is a village which is part of the St Edmundsburymarker borough in the Englishmarker county of Suffolk.

RAF Stradishall

In 1938 the Royal Air Force built an airfield at Stradishall. The airfield closed in 1970 and is now the site of two category C prisons: HMP Highpointmarker and HMP Edmunds Hillmarker. Part of the former airfield remains a MOD training site which is closed to the public. There is a memorial to RAF Stradishall outside Sterling House which was once part of the officers quarters and now is a training unit for the Prison service.
