which is part of the greater dispute between India and Pakistan.

Population
Sudhanoti has a population of 242,000. The People are mostly
Sudhans and Awan
Sudhanoti was carved out of Poonch district in 1995.
The district is
bounded by Rawalakot District in
the north, Kotli in the south and
Punjab
in the
west. The total area of the district is 569 square
kilometres, with a population of 214,000 in 1998. The district
comprises two tehsils i.e. Pallandari and Balooch.
The majority of people living in this area are members of the
Sudhan tribe. Pullandri or
Palandari is the headquarters of district
Sudhanoti. It is at an elevation of 1372 meters and is at a
distance of 97 kilometres from Rawalpindi via
Azad Pattan, and is also connected with
Rawalakot by 64 kilometres long metalled road. There is a PWD Rest
House located at the hilltop, giving a view of the picturesque
landscape and green mountains all round.
