The Sydney Entertainment Centre is an entertainment venue located in Haymarketmarker, Sydneymarker, Australia. It opened in May 1983 to replace the Sydney Stadium, which had been demolished to make way for a new railway. The centre is currently owned by the Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority, which administers the neighbouring Darling Harbourmarker area, and managed under a lease. It is one of Sydney's larger concert venues, accommodating 12,000 people as a conventional theatre or 8,000 as a theatre-in-the-round. It is averaging an attendance of 1 million people each year. It hosts concerts, family shows, sporting events and corporate events.

A wide range of musical artists have performed at the centre including Cher, AC/DC, U2, Christina Aguilera, Beyoncé, Black Eyed Peas, David Bowie, Mariah Carey, Kelly Clarkson, Coldplay, Coolio, Celine Dion, Evanescence, Janet Jackson, Billy Joel, Kylie Minogue, Andy Lau, Linkin Park, Brooks & Dunn, Carole King, Marilyn Manson, Marko Perković Thompson, Metallica, Muse, My Chemical Romance, Pink Floyd, Queen, Radiohead, Rage Against the Machine, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Roxette, Sammi Cheng Santana, Tool, Shania Twain,The Corrs, Van Halen, Westlife and Stevie Wonder as well as international circuses and shows such as Disney on Ice and Hugh Jackman's The Boy from Oz. The now defunct World Championship Wrestling also held events there in 2000. As a sporting venue, the SEC is best known as the home stadium for the former Sydney Kings basketball team, but other sports such as boxing, tennis and indoor motor-cross have also been held there. In the 2000 Summer Olympics, the SEC was the venue for volleyball.

Elton John has played numerous concerts there over the years including eight dates in 1986 with an orchestra. The latter shows were some of the last before he had to have throat surgery.

Kylie Minogue has played 22 concerts there, she finished her On A Night Like This Tour after playing 10 nights there, and kicked off her Showgirl: The Homecoming Tour there in November, 2006.

Pop rock superstar Pink performed (a then record-breaking) seven shows there during her 2007 I'm Not Dead World Tour. In 2009 with her Funhouse Tour, in support of the number one album, she will play a record 12 shows. Ten of which have sold out.
