Ted Jensen is an American
recording engineer. Jensen is the chief
mastering engineer at
Sterling Sound,. He started his career as a
mastering engineer in 1976 and has is the most currently active
Mastering Engineer in the industry. In total he has mastered,
engineered, or mixed more than 2400 albums from more than 1100 pop
and rock musicians.
Awards and recognition
In 2002, he received a
Grammy Award as
master engineer of the
Norah Jones
album,
Come Away with Me,
which won
Album of
the Year. In 2007, he won a Grammy for
Maroon 5's hit song "
Makes Me Wonder" from their album
It Won't Be Soon Before
Long, which won the
Grammy Award for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with
Vocals.
Studio
Sterling
Sound is located on the west side of Manhattan in the Chelsea
neighborhood. Jensen's studio is one of only
three surround sound studios at Sterling Sound, the other two
belong to
George Marino and
Leon Zervos. Jensen's studio is equipped with
five
Bowers & Wilkins 801
Nautilus loudspeakers, powered by four Classe Omega power
amplifiers.
