East. He was formerly a bureau chief for The Boston Globe

. Thanassis previously worked as a reporter in
Greece and Indonesia for the Associated
is a graduate of the University of
North Carolina, Chapel Hill, where he was editor of The Daily Tar Heel.
he received a master's degree in public administration and
international relations from Princeton University.
Cambanis is married to Anne Barnard, currently a metropolitan
reporter on the staff of The New York Times
