The Manchester Ritz is a live music venue in Whitworth Street West in Manchestermarker. It describes itself as "one of the great Manchester institutions" . It won Manchester's Best Bar None And Club awards for 2006/2007, which are organised by the Greater Manchester Police. It was managed in the 1960s by Jimmy Saville, and is currently managed by Sean Cullen.[423983]

The venue is also notable for its unusual "springy" dancefloor. [423984]

of September 2007 its most popular night is a 1970s themed night called Love Train which takes place every Wednesday night. The venue is also occasional host to events run by third party entertainment brands such as Federation.

Many of the most famous bands in the UK have played here at some point, including The Beatles, The Stone Roses, Arctic Monkeys, The Smiths (who played their first gig there in October 1982), Snow Patrol, Happy Mondays and many more.
