Tina Landon is a
director/choreographer and dancer for
high-profile concert tours and music videos.
Originally from
Lancaster
, California
, she has been well-known in the dancing industry
since the late 1980s. She started as a
Los Angeles Lakers Girl with
Paula Abdul, had her first video work on
Michael Jackson's
Smooth Criminal, and then toured as a
dancer on
Janet Jackson's
Rhythm Nation 1814 Tour.
During the tour, Jackson asked Tina to help her with some moves for
the cleavage-heavy
Love Will Never Do
video. Up until then, Jackson avoided the sexual image. When she
wanted to make that change she asked Tina for a little coaching.
Janet embraced her new found sex-symbol image and again turned to
Landon to choreograph
If. Tina delivered with a
high-energy mix of sassy twists and crotch-grabbing antics that
helped to propel Janet’s new image to the forefront of the music
world. Tina went on to choreograph the entire “janet” project,
including the
You Want This
video and a world tour. Tina then took on Janet’s
The Velvet Rope project, including the
Together
Again video and another world tour, this time scoring Tina
an Emmy nomination for
The
Velvet Rope Tour HBO concert special.
