Tooting railway station is in the London Borough of Mertonmarker in South Londonmarker. The station is served by First Capital Connect trains, and is on the Thameslink loop. It is in Travelcard Zone 3.

The station opened in 1894 as 'Tooting Junction', replacing an early Tooting Junction stationmarker slightly further West that dated from 1868. It was renamed simply 'Tooting' in the 1938, following the closure of the branch line from Tooting to Merton Parkmarker to passenger traffic in 1929.

Services

The typical off-peak service from the station is 2 trains per hour to St Albansmarker via Herne Hillmarker and London Blackfriarsmarker (clockwise around the loop) and 2 trains per hour to Suttonmarker via Wimbledonmarker (anticlockwise).
