Trandumskogen in Ullensakermarker was the site of one of the first discoveries in May 1945 of Germanmarker mass graves in Norwaymarker. The German executioner Oskar Hans was officer in command of the unit performing the executions.

In total, 173 Norwegians, 6 Britishmarker citizens and 15 Russiansmarker were executed here. Many were sentenced to death by the German occupation force, but there was also a great number subject to arbitrary executions.After the war, Norwegian citizens sentenced for treason, and leading NS-members were forced to dig up the graves and exhume the bodies of the executed prisoners.

A memorial for the persons executed at Trandumskogen has been raised at the location, listing the names of everyone executed here. This memorial has status as a national memorial.

IN THE COMBAT FOR FREEDOM

DURING THE 1940-1945 WAR

173 NORWEGIANS 15 SOVJET-
