Trempealeau is a village in
Trempealeau
County
in the U.S. state of
Wisconsin
. The population was 1,319 at the 2000
census. The village is located within the
Town of Trempealeau.

States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of
1.3
square miles (3.3
km²), of which, 1.2 square miles
(3.1 km²) of it is land and 0.1 square miles
(0.2 km²) of it (6.25%) is water.
Demographics
As of the
census of 2000, there were 1,319
people, 593 households, and 367 families residing in the village.
The
population density was
1,095.4 people per square mile (424.4/km²). There were 622 housing
units at an average density of 516.6/sq mi (200.1/km²). The
racial makeup of the village was 98.26%

There were 593 households out of which 28.8% had children under the
age of 18 living with them, 49.1% were

couples living together, 8.1% had a female householder with no
husband present, and 38.1% were non-families. 31.5% of all
households were made up of individuals and 12.3% had someone living
alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size
was 2.22 and the average family size was 2.78.
In the village the population was spread out with 22.4% under the
age of 18, 6.1% from 18 to 24, 32.6% from 25 to 44, 23.5% from 45
to 64, and 15.4% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age
was 38 years. For every 100 females there were 100.2 males. For
every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 96.7 males.
The median income for a household in the village was $36,422, and
the median income for a family was $44,792. Males had a median
income of $30,881 versus $22,708 for females. The
per capita income for the village was
$18,465. About 3.8% of families and 6.3% of the population were
below the
poverty line, including 7.6%
of those under age 18 and 13.6% of those age 65 or over.
