Baba Vida fortress in Vidin
Vidin Province ( ) is the northwesternmost province of Bulgariamarker. It borders Serbiamarker and Romaniamarker. Its administrative centre is Vidinmarker on the Danube, and other municipalities are Belogradchikmarker, Boynitsamarker, Bregovomarker, Chuprenemarker, Dimovomarker, Gramadamarker, Kulamarker, Makreshmarker, Novo Selo, and Ruzhintsimarker.

There are remains of many castles, some of which are Baba Vidamarker, one of the last Bulgarian strongholds during the Ottoman invasion and the Belogradchik fortress.

The Belogradchik Rocks
The territory of the province includes the most western parts of the Danubian Plainmarker and Stara Planinamarker, while the Danube forms the border with Romaniamarker. The slopes of Stara Planinamarker are covered with dense forests, lush meadows and boasts the majestic rock phenomena, the Belogradchik Rocksmarker. There are around 80 caves situated close to the border with Serbiamarker, the most famous being the Magura Cavemarker, which known with its cave painting from 10,000 BC. There is also a lake in the proximity of the cave.
